On Sunday 28th June 2015, the U12G's played in the Leicester Women's 7 a-side tournament...and brought home a little bit of silverware!

Harborough under 12 girls ended their season on a high as runners up in the Leicester City Women’s 7 aside Tournament which took place on Sunday 28th June. The girls overcome opposition from Mount Sorrel, Braunstone Trinity, Barwell and Oadby and Wigston on their way to the Final where they succumbed by the narrowest of margins to winners St Ives. Most of the girls in the team are 10 years of age and the coach Kevin Eastwell was delighted to receive many positive comments of the Leicester City Senior Women players running the day.

Team members where Chloe Smith, Williams, Lauren Kirby, Hope Benson, Ciara Hawthorne, Paris Bolger, Hollie Handiside, Amy Holmes and Harriet Prior.

Marion Hayton, Chairperson for the Youth section as HTFC said, 'Harborough Town is delighted to see one of its newly formed teams compete and come away with a trophy. The girls have only been playing one season and it is amazing to see how far they have come along in a short time. Credit goes to the manager Kevin Eastwell. This boosts confidence and self esteem amongst the girls as they move into the new season. Well done to Kevin and the girls.

Harborough Town FC is an FA Charter Standard Community Club with 42 teams. (Seniors Men, Inclusive Adult and Youth Male, Juniors Male and Female). All teams train and play at Bowdens Park, off Northampton Road, by the. Leisure Centre in Market Harborough.

The club is looking to develop mini soccer girls section which will feed into the junior girls section. Girls can be 6 years to 9 years old. We know that the England Women Team, who this week lost in the FIFA World Cup semi-final in Canada to Japan, in the last seconds of added on time by a freaky goal, have inspired a Nation. We want to see more girls taking up football at our fantastic facility up at Bowdens Park'.
