Harborough Town FC

What our team is all about:
• We will give the girls space to learn, make decisions, make mistakes and have fun
• We will focus on praising what they have done well and using questioning to help them to figure out where they can improve both at a team and individual level
• We will ensure that matches are also fun and will focus on implementing what we did in training and not just winning
• We will give prizes for effort and improvement (e.g. medals or the odd bag of Haribo)
• We will pick the team for matches based on the following criteria:

• overall fairness of game time throughout the season
• player availability and special parent requests
• our view on the strength of the opposition
• player attitude at training and matches

• We will make sure everyone we ask to attend a match gets good game time
• We will select positions based on helping them learn (i.e. not their favourite/best position all the time)
• We dare to lose as long as we are learning...that said we LOVE to win!
• We will focus on skills AND attitude and AND teamwork We dare ask a player to take a timeout if they are behaving badly...even if it leaves us short in a match
• When we are coaching we will ‘take off our parents hats’ and coach with equality and fairness
• We will train and play whatever the weather (as long as it is not dangerous e.g. frozen pitches, lightening storms)
