March Madness – the run in to the end of our league season

Ahead of March Madness we sat down with team manager and backs coach Ben Linnett to hear his thoughts on the season so far and looking to whats to come ...

"Its the business end of the season for our senior teams! After a year of solid training, tough league and friendly fixtures, and managing a seemingly never-ending injury list, the next few fixtures will be some of the most important to our sides.
Our 1stXV start MM with away trips to Southam and Stoke, both of whom we will be looking to get revenge on after home defeats earlier in the season. Southam will be especially tough as they’ve added structure to their game this year and boast a number of good tactical kicking options. We then finish with 2 home matches vs the top 2 sides in the league. Nothing like an easy run in, ay……. VPs vs the league champions elect, and then the weather postponed return of Earlsdon.
After a promotion last season, our target for the 1s was a top 4 finish, and that looks well on the cards if we can pick up a couple of wins, plus some bonus points, from those last 4 matches.
The 2s are the ones to watch though, with silverware in their sights. After a non league fixture (can’t use ‘friendly’) vs Southam this weekend, we finish with two massive league matches. A win away vs Barkers would set up effectively the league decider at home on VPs vs Berkswell and Balsall, with the Bees in the hotseat to become league champions for the first time in over a decade.
These are by no means easy games, but with the way we’ve been performing, despite the club-wide injuries, the Bees have more than enough fire power to finish on top.
Just a quick reminder, if you’re selling a house in Leamington, Kenilworth, Stratford or the surrounding areas, please contact my sponsor Nathaniel. Apparently, I don’t mention that enough………(thanks Than)"
