It was last play and Harrow were ahead by 1 point 28-27. The ref (our very own Iain Taffs) had called last play and Harrow somehow decided to play for another score. They lost possession, Tralee pounced and a great run in saw them score to win 28-32. It couldn't have been closer. Both sides played very well and it was a great game to watch for the sizeable crowd of spectators.
One of the Tralee players used to play at Harrow and that was the connection that made their trip to London include a visit to our club. It was great to welcome them to the club and they all stayed to watch the 6 Nations games in the club afterwards.
Our new friends have invited us to their place for the next game and that is invitation our players and coaches don't want to miss.
The "Dick of the Day" contest in the clubhouse afterwards involved a player from each side eating a tube of Rolos and drinking a glass of water to see who was the fastest. Tiernan from Harrow won with the innovative tactic of not bothering to unwrap the Rolos first! Great competitive spirit!
Well done to all the players, coaches and especially Eileen for providing great hospitality to our visitors!
