First and most importantly, it was Remembrance Sunday and the fallen were remembered impeccably by both teams immediately before kick off.

It was a bright but cold and blustery morning on Wood Lane, and Harrow had a very healthy complement of 20 ready and willing to pull on the shirt. The opening passages were competitive, with both teams enjoying some possession, but also a few mistakes creeping in from either side.

Harrow opened the scoring with a fine breakaway through the centre from Adam, who bagged a first half hat-trick as Harrow went in to the break just ahead. Every time Harrow looking like going clear, Twickenham managed to get back into the game, which made for a competitive and exciting match.

Special mention must be given to the Twickenham goal kicker who put over a remarkable conversion from the touchline, into a swirling wind.

A few missed tackles cost Harrow a couple of tries, but the same was true in reverse. Something for both sides to work on back on the training ground.

David scored a fine breakaway try, and Adam took his personal tally to 4 in the second half, and there were conversations from Asher (3) and Nathan (1).

Apart from the result, the most impressive and pleasing aspect of Harrow's game was the scrum: having had very little chance to practice as a unit, all eight did sterling work to build the platform which the backs converted into points.

All the players should be rightly proud of the efforts, and be pleased to get that first W of the season under their belts.
