1951/52
Fred King was the new first team manager at the start of season . Alf Kinch, one of the clubs founders stood down as Chairman, but continued to be involved with the club. He would become president twelve months later.
The team improved attaining a mid-table placing. We suffered an early exit in the F.A. Cup, Green and Case scored in a 3-2 defeat at Uxbridge . Some success was achieved in the Amateur Cup as victories over Hawkins Athletic (1-0, O’Boyle scored) and Pinner (2-1, Green & Bennett) set up a home tie with Athenian League Leyton . O’Boyle scored an early goal for Harrow in front of what the local paper described as “the largest crowd of the season”. Harrow had chances to increase their lead but conceded an equaliser just before half time. Leyton dominated the second half to gain a 3-1 win. Leyton would go to reach the final against Walthamstow Avenue at Wembley Stadium, a game that played before a full house of 100,000 people!
We played Wingate in the Middlesex Senior Cup and two replays were required before Hunt Case (2) and Newton scored in a 4-2 win (after 3-3 & 0-0 draws).Victories over Crown & Manor(3-1)then Paddington (2-1) set up a tie against another strong Athenian League side, although Finchley were comfortable winners by six goals to nil.
George case monopolised the scoring chart with 31 goals, as no other player scored more than six.
The reserves team, playing their first season in the Spartan League (reserve section) finished second. The same position they had finished in the Great Western Combination for the previous four seasons.
