Tom Loftus-Tottenham in his second season in charge achieved a best league table position for many years. Only 3 defeats at home all season to finish fourth.
The manager brought in a new coach, Derek Healy a Former Leyton Orient & Liverpool player who had just retired from playing at the age of 23. Only 3 defeats at home all season
The national cups were again a disappointment. Drawn away to Southall in the F.A. Cup 7 beaten 3-0 at Western Road. In The Amateur Cup we visited Willesden where Jim Peake scored in a 2-1 defeat. A 4-3 victory over Eton Manor in the London Senior Cup featured three Peake brothers scoring, Jim, Fred & Ray along with a Phil West goal. In the next round Briggs Sports ran out 3-0 winners at their new ground Rush Green ( now West Ham Utd training ground) having moved out of Victoria Road, which became home to Dagenham F.C.. In the Middlesex Senior Cup Wood Green were thumped at Earlsmead 8-0. Then another away draw saw defeat at Vale Farm as Wembley won 1-0.
In The North West Middlesex invitation Cup, Wealdstone were beaten over two legs (1-1,4-1) Then another defeat at Vale Farm in the final as Wembley won 4-0, the second leg at Earlsmead ended 2-2
Phil West was top scorer with 30 goals.
The reserves manged by W. Tuffin won the Spartan League Reserve section. Scoring 108 goals in 26 matches.
At the end of season dinner two football league managers were guests, Jack Crayston of Arsenal and Alec Stock of Leyton Orient. The relationship of Stock, Loftus-Tottenham & Derek Healey would prove to be of great benefit to Queens Park Rangers in a couple of years time.
