Season 27. 1959/60

Bernie Reeves stepped up from reserve team manager/goalkeeper to become the first team manager with Stan Robinson becoming player/coach. The Aldridge brothers had left to be replaced by Alf and John Willis who were also brothers.

An opening day 3-2 defeat at Tufnell Park was a disappointing start , Our former management team now at Q.P.R. arranged for Eammon Horgan to play in goal for Harrow. He kept a clean sheet in his debut as goals from John Francis and Stuart Davis saw off Hemel Hempstead in our first home match of the season. The team would remain unbeaten from then until Hertford Town visited in mid-March. Harrow were beaten 2-0 and forward Alf Willis was sent off during the 2nd half. The following week a scoreless draw at Stevenage little to help the chase for the league title, this was followed by the away match at Hertford . When a win was needed, Harrow had their heaviest league defeat for over three years going down 5-1. Wins over Tufnell Park (5-1) then Berkhamsted (2-0) kept an outside chance of winning the league alive. Then defeat at Woodford, only our 4th of the season would mean a final position of third.
In the 3-2 away win at Ware an unusual incident happen, when keeper Eammon Horgan pushed the ball over the cross bar for a corner he grabbed the bar, which snapped resulting in a delay while a temporary splint was made until the crossbar could be replaced at half time.
Cup form was disappointing, as a single goal defeat at Athenian League Southall in the F.A. Cup and a 2-1 defeat to Maidenhead United ended our hopes in the Amateur Cup before a seasons best attendance of 700. Wins against Twickenham (4-1) then Beckenham (3-2) goals in the London Senior Cup before a 2-0 reverse at Leytonstone. Then in the Middlesex Senior Cup a fine 5-2 win over Hampton with Francis, A.Willis (2), Gee, and Osborn scoring was followed by a 4-2 defeat at Uxbridge with Alf Willis again scoring twice.
Our Top scorer was Alf Willis on 19 goals followed by Johnny Francis on 11.
The Reserves under new manager Dick Ellis finished seventh in the reserve section.
William Old began a long association with the club when he became the President at the end of the season.
