Tommy Thompson had become manger but as we won only one game before the new year it looked as though last season’s bottom place would be repeated. Then a remarkable run saw us win ten and draw two of the remaining fourteen league games. The only cup match was lost-in the Middlesex Junior Cup. Arthur Wells led the side from right back and our leading scorers were C. Brown (14) ‘Bunny’ Barnett (6) and Alan Bridges (6).
A 15 year old name Denis Russell made his debut for the reserves to begin an association with the club that would last for over 50 years..
