El Mhanni, now 26 originally started his career in, Boro u23 manager, Godfrey Torte academy side. He then went on to play for Farnborough and Lewes before having trials with a number of Premier League clubs
His YouTube skills videos attracted worldwide interest and El-Mhanni worked as a double for Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo in television commercials.
In July 2016 he signed for Newcastle United, making two first team appearances, then in October 2018, the Moroccan signed for League Two side Scunthorpe United and made eight appearances, scoring his first professional goal in a 3–2 loss to Mansfield Town.

He has since played for Chesham United.
