Play for Hartlepool Rugby Club

Senior Rugby

Hartlepool Rugby Club are proud to field three senior men’s sides – 1st XV, Hartlepool A and Hartlepool Friars.

At Hartlepool Rugby Club we are fully aware that every individual player has their own unique interest in the sport and we believe that the playing opportunities that we offer cater for this.

The 1st XV are the most competitive side at the club and will play their rugby in Durham Northumberland 2 this season. Home games at Mayfield Park are well attended by club members and local supporters.

Hartlepool A will play in CANDY League Division 2 South this season. They play a vital role in the development of our senior players and provide a pathway to the 1st XV.

Hartlepool Friars are specifically aimed at those who have a passion for the sport but who are not looking to play on a weekly basis or at a competitive level. A perfect platform for those who want to prolong their playing days in a more social environment.

Training for senior players takes place on Tuesday & Thursday evenings 7pm. Those with an ambition and desire to play 1st XV rugby on a regular basis are expected to attend training. All other senior players are encouraged to attend also.

The club has a well established coaching structure, as well as physiotherapy and injury support.

Whatever your ability or ambition - whether you want to compete to play in Durham & Northumberland 2, develop your game or just want a run out now & then - there are plenty of playing & training opportunities for you at Hartlepool Rugby Club!

We are a traditional rugby club with a friendly atmosphere and offer a warm welcome to new players of all abilities and experience.
