On Saturday we welcome Glapwell to the Jones & Co Recreational Ground in Central Midlands Alliance action. We wish a warm welcome to all the players, officials, and supporters of Glapwell.
As always entry for the game is £3 for adults, £2 for concessions and free for members. Toms Tea Room will be open for refreshments and the Pavilion will be open for pre and post-match drinks. Also, the Shaft Side Bar will be open throughout the game for alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. The club’s raffle will also be up for grabs so please remember to purchase your tickets. As always, your support is greatly appreciated.
We currently sit in 11th position in the league table, with 25 points after 18 fixtures. Last Saturday we lost 3-1 at home to Ollerton Town, with Matty Thompson scoring. On Saturday 1st February we lost 2-1 away at Worksop Town Reserves, with Callum Edwards scoring. On Saturday 25th January we drew 3-3 away at St Josephs, with Callum Edwards bagging a hat-trick. On Thursday 16th January we won 3-0 at home to Gresley Rovers Reserves in the Abacus Lighting Floodlit Cup, with Callum Edwards, Adam Morrison and Harvey Smith scoring. On Saturday 4th January we lost 5-4 at home to Staveley Miners Welfare Reserves, with Josh Bowkett, Joe Green, Mason Laws and Rob Singer scoring.
Our visitors currently sit in 15th position in the table, with six points from 22 fixtures. On Saturday they lost 2-0 at home to Worksop Town Reserves. On Saturday 1st February they lost 5-2 away at Dinnington Town, with Cameron Burgin scoring twice. On Saturday 25th January they drew 2-2 at home to AFC Bentley, with Cameron Burgin scoring, and the other goal being an own goal.
The two sides have previously met on 17 occasions, with Colliery winning eight, drawing five and losing four of those meetings. The last time that the sides met was on Saturday 9th November, with Colliery winning 3-2 at Hall Corner. Callum Edwards scored twice for Colliery, with Will Collingwood getting our other goal. Oliver Parfitt scored twice for Glapwell.
