END OF SEASON 2023-24 CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE

END OF SEASON 2023-24 CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE

Barbara Jones30 Apr - 19:36

As the end of this season approaches, Club Chairman Ryan Churcher reflects on the season had and thanks everyone for their support.

Dear Haverhill Rovers supporters,

As the end of this season approaches, it’s time to reflect on the season had. With an overhaul of the seniors committee two games into the season and a new management team within the first couple of months it feels like the season has been a success.

Notably since Ben Cowling and Martin Westcott have taken over the reins there has been a lot of change in the playing squad, but they have managed to be one of the form sides in the league since taking over. I have full confidence in Ben and his team to bring us success next season and beyond.

Another positive is witnessing youth players coming through the system and showing they are ready for senior football.

I would like to take this opportunity to highlight the great work Harry Zachariou, Wayne Goddard and Robin Barton are doing with the U16/U18’s as they look to end the season with league success and some big cup wins.

Ian Ford continues to improve and work with his local players which has seen several appear for the first team over the last few weeks.

Mark Rogers U14 EJA side has had an excellent first season at the high standard required at this level and adds to the success of the youth system.

The club has big plans for Season 2024-25, adding an Under 23’s, Reserves, Woman’s senior side and an U18’s.

Over the coming weeks the club intends to hold open meetings to discuss the youth section to get opinions of the current structure and pathway.

Whilst writing, I would like to take this chance to thank everyone involved with the club, the volunteers, the HCSA for its support, both committees and of course our loyal supporters.

The club are still looking for new people to get involved in the club next season, so in anyone would like to get involved please contact the club.

Kind regards

Ryan Churcher
Chairman – Haverhill Rovers F C
