Club stalwart John Thompson lost his fight with throat cancer and died last Sunday.
Every one at Hawkins feels the loss. John was a feisty character who played the game with Great Spirit. He loved his pipe & a pint. And will be missed by us all.
Hawkins V Milford Hall

. When opening bowler Ejaz was struck down with a splitting head ache Hawkins Captain Rashid was forced to bat first.
Along with Shazzad Tahir, Rashid got off to a flyer, seeing Hawkins to 65 -0
Miford captain Bulpitt changed things and along with Henderson reduced Hawkins to 110-9,
Abbas & Razza together put on 70 for the last wicket.
Despite The guile of Bulpitt & pace of Henderson momentum was with Hawkins.
Milford struggled and Nawaz ,Abbas Akram & Ali(straight from maternity) kept the pressure on until they succumbed to 73 all out.
Difficult to choose a man of the match.
Here are my top 5
Evans ----catches win matches
Nawaz ----Head ache for the batsmen
Mo Razza ---Third teamer!!!!!!!
Shazzad-------builder
Qam Abbas------Balls like space hoppers
We’ve come second to Milford a few times at every level, nice to beat a big club1
Hawkins 180-allout
Milford 73 allout
