HEMEL HEMPSTEAD TOWN FC UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

Tony Conway24 May 2012 - 07:25

Press release from Hemel Hempstead Town FC

Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club are very pleased to announce the appointment of Dean Brennan to the position of first team manager, and Stuart Maynard who will become first team assistant manager.

The club believe that Dean and Stuart are ready for the challenge to manage at this level, and feel that this new engagement will be beneficial to both parties, such is their desire to succeed.

Dean Brennan:

Dean began his career at Sheffield Wednesday before earning a two-year contract at Luton Town. The midfielder then enjoyed an illustrious career in non-league football with spells at Stevenage, Grays Athletic, Lewes, AFC Wimbledon, Cambridge City, Chesham United and Hemel Hempstead.

At the age of 29, Dean was appointed interim manager of Hemel Hempstead in March 2010 in a bid to avoid relegation after the sacking of previous incumbent Gary Phillips.

Together with assistant manager and Watford legend Luther Blissett, Dean went on to amass enough points in the remaining nine games that eventually saw Hemel Hempstead earn a reprieve to stay in the Premier Division as well as win the Hertfordshire Senior Cup and St Mary's Cup.

Dean went onto Dunstable Town at the start of the 2011/2012 season as player/coach, scoring against Chesham United as they went through to the FA Cup 3rd round qualifier, and finishing second in the Molten Spartan South Midlands Premier Division with an impressive 99 points.

Stuart Maynard:

Born in Aylesbury, Stuart began his career with Watford as an apprentice followed by a brief spell in Holland. Stuart enjoyed a successful non-league career playing for St Albans, Aylesbury United, Enfield, Hitchin Town, Dunstable Town, Chesham United and Barton Rovers.

Before joining Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club, both Dean and Stuart were professional scouts and have secured a number of signings at league and non-league level, including many placements in the Southern League Premier last season.

Our new management team will now be industriously arranging pre-season training and fixtures not to mention squad assessment and improvement to see in the 2012/2013 season, no matter which division we may be contending.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Dean and Stuart back into the fold and wish them every success for the coming season.
