Ruairi Mc Daid was dropped in place for Stefan Dill who returned between the sticks after 2 weeks. Paul Paynter returned at right back in place of the absent Josh Dunroe. Kevin Cox and Jamie Wynne started in the middle of defence while Ian Dickinson was placed at left-back. Ayibongwe Mabhena and Lewis Saunders started on either side of captain on the day Neil Hulme while David Hogg partnered Yves Zama up front.

On a heavy Station Road pitch it was Garstang who scored the only goal of the game on 9 minutes as Danny McGahon ran in behind Dickinson and Wynne before putting the ball through Stefan Dills legs from a tight angle. After this Hesketh Bank never really got going and rarely threatened Jim Brindle's goal. However they managed to earn themselves a penalty as David Hogg went down under the challenge of the left back this was however waved away by the referee but the linesman on the near side put his flag across to his chest. Very harsh decision to give a penalty as it was a perfectly timed tackle.

To Garstang's rescue, Brindle got low down to his right to save a weak Mabhena penalty. Hesketh Bank's afternoon went from bad to worse as Jamie Wynne and Yves Zama both left the pitch through injury in the first half and they were replaced by Mark McGroaty and Mohammed Lulat.

In the second half both teams failed to majorly test either 'keeper and both held on to a second half clean sheet. Brindle however made some saves to keep his team in front while Dill made a one on one save to keep the scores down.

So Hesketh Bank's 3 game winning streak was ended by a decent Garstang team and the two teams will meet again in 2 weeks time for the re-arranged game that was abandoned back on November the 1st after a horror injury to Mark Thornley.
