Another entertaining football match at Station Road saw a score line that was somewhat flattering for the home team. Newly promoted Fulwood Amateurs turned up and produced a display that on another day could have seen them depart with more goals. Manager James Smith again made changes to his starting line-up no doubt with players unavailable due to different reason. Josh Brierley was dropped to the bench and Ian Dickinson was away on the cricket field turning out for Chorley. Adam Thompson was unavailable so Tony Sergeant returned to the side. Adam Goldfarb was back to take a place on the bench.

It was a sunny afternoon but there was a cool wind as the game kicked off with Hesketh playing towards the Bowling club end and went behind with just over 2 minutes on the clock as a corner from Ryan Dodd was smashed in from 4 yards by the unmarked Phil Blackwell. Falling behind in the early stages once again Hesketh Bank failed to get out of their shell as Fulwood enjoyed the majority of possession in central midfield attacking Singleton's goal more the less every 2 minutes with Dodd denied twice by the hands of Singleton. A second goal was added by Ryan Dodd himself after a solo run beating both the challenges of Cox and Roberts to curl one past the motionless Stuart Singleton into the top left hand corner. Singleton then rolled his ankle attempting to clear a back pass from Sergeant and it looked unlikely he'd carry on with sub keeper Wiktor Pamfil on the getting ready on the sidelines to come on. After a 5 minute delay for the treatment of Singleton the game resumed and Singleton was fine to carry on. A phenomenal save from the Fulwood keeper proved to be the vital point in the game after John Steads powerful head was heading into the top corner which the goalkeeper somehow managed to tip away.

The second half started where the second one ended as Fulwood pushed for a third and got what they deserved after Signleton failed to hold onto Blackwell's shot spilling it at the feet of Brad Fox who put the game to bed from 6 yards out. Josh Roberts escaped a sending off following what looked like a last man challenge on the Fulwood forward but referee Andy Sykes only showed him the yellow with a free kick from 20 yards to follow. Singleton set up a 5 man wall but completely in the wrong place which Mitch Newsham spotted and placed his free kick well away from Singleton to make it 0-4 to the visitors. Josh Brierley and Adam Goldfarb were given a run out with the game virtually over with 30 minutes to go replacing David Hogg and James Green. Four nil became five nil with 11 minutes to go as Newsham played the ball into Danny Braithwaite who beat the challenge of Tony Sergeant before rolling the ball past Singleton. In added time Josh Brierley scored what was only a consolation goal after a pass from fellow substitute Adam Goldfarb.

Tuesday 25th August will see Hesketh Bank hosts to Longridge Town, kick off is the usual 6.15pm.
