This was the third meeting of the season between the Club's - the first (18 Aug) in the League saw Frenford leading 1-0 at Swifts with 8 minutes remaining when a serious injury to a Swifts player saw the game abandoned (but subsequently the result standed by order of the ESL).
A month later (20 Sept) Swifts hosted Frenford in the Group Stages of the Len Cordell Memorial Trophy winning 2-0 with goals from Harry Field and Fred Winyard.
This third meeting in the 2nd Round of the BBC Essex Saturday Premier Cup saw Callum Chafer continue his return to fitness for his first game since being injured against Witham Town on September 30th.
Both sides had progressed through Round One with wins over Belle Vue SC (5-2) and Old Southendians Res. (7-2) respectively.
Swifts led 1-0 at the break and moved in Round 3 with a 3-1 victory with two goals from Jake Stewart and a goal from Fred Winyard. This earns a home tie in the next round against Sungate FC who are currently second in the Essex Olympian League Premier Division with a record of 11 wins and 2 draws from their 13 league games to date. They are unbeaten in all 17 games this season and will present a stiff challenge for our young side.
The date is to be confirmed for this fixture.
