Swifts were forced into changes with a number of players missing - Chris Gregan (unavailable), Marquez Cadette (illness) and Billy Crook and Kojo Apenteng (injured). Ben Allen continued to be missing folowing an operation on his hand whilst Eddie Carrington-Alberdi remains injured as well. Julian Dicks included two Reserve/U18 players on the bench in Mason Gillam & Harry Parsley.
Tilbury included former Swifts Sam Bantick and Kieran Jones in their starting line-up and also included keeper Bradley Monks (as recently signed keeper George Marsh was cup-tied). Monks played one game earlier in the season for Redbridge against Swifts in their 3-3 draw in late October.
Play in the opening half was fairly even with little goalmouth action. Tilbury went close in the 22nd minute when a free kick from Sam Bantick caused a scramble in the Swifts box with Joseph Adewunmi clearing a goalbound effort from Spooner during the scramble. Swifts had a chance to take the lead in the 32nd minute when Vinnie Bowman broke through on the right but his cross to unmarked Andy Fennell at the far post was poorly executed and the ball went behind Fennell and the chance gone.

Swifts started better after the break and from a corner in the 52nd minute, the ball fell to the feet of Alfie Cutbush who ballooned his shot onto the Youth pitch from around 8 yards. Three minutes later, it looked like Tilbury had taken the lead - a Kieran Jones corner was floated across with Callum Chafer appearing to be fouled and the loose ball rebounded to Jack Hayes who headed home. The whistle was sounded and the goal disallowed - much to the annoyance of Sam Carter & Sam Bantick who were both shown a yellow card for their protestations.
Tilbury made a double change on the hour with leading scorer Alex Hernandez introduced - the 14 goal man (who scored a screamer in the League game in early October) had been sent off in his last game at Hendon and, although suspended, due to a "quirk" in the FA Disciplinary rules was eligible for this game which is considered a "Non-1st Team" fixture.
Vinnie Bowman had two efforts on goal in the 63rd minute - his first shot blocked but from the rebound his second shot was easily saved by Monks. Alfie Cutbush picked up a yellow card in the 68th minute for a foul and Swifts then made their first change with Scott Sloots replacing Lauric Diakiesse.
Swifts almost went ahead in the 74th minute when a backpass to keeper Monks was chased down by Sloots and the clearance by Monks rebounded of Sloots but went tantalisingly close to goal. Swifts had to be alert to the danger of both Hernandez and Bantick and there was a bit of a let-off in the 78th minute when Bantick saw his weakly hit shot saved by Chafer.
Hernandez then had two chances - the first a long range swerving shot that Chafer saved, followed by a well executed free-kick that saw Chafer scramble to his right to turn the shot away for a corner.
The game seemed to be heading for a penalty shoot-out as the Match Referee signalled four additional minutes and in the second of these Swifts grabbed the winner - the ball reached Manny Osei-Owusu out on the left and his first shot was blocked but he immediately sent the ball back through a crowd of players within the six-yard box and the ball hit the inside of the far post before nestling into the net.
Tilbury pressed forward in search of an equaliser and claims for a foul in the area on Stewart received little sympathy from the Match Referee and Swifts held out to secure their spot in the Semi Finals which will be played sometime in January 2025.
