Hinckley Amateur made it 2 wins out of 2 as they beat Broomleys at Ashby Rd. The visitors batted first and tight bowling by the Amateur bowlers restricted the score to 168-6, Spinners Jamie Harris-Ensor with 2-37 and Mick Butterworth continuing his early season form with 4-40 taking the wickets on a total which looked below par on a decent looking track. Amateurs faltered in reply as they lost James Axon and Shoyab Dadu early. Alan York and Jason Tipping then steadied the innings before Tipping was bowled for 15, this brought in Ed Proctor who smashed his way to a remarkable 97 off just 45 balls including 6 sixes and 13 fours as he hit the ball to all parts of the ground. He lost York for 23 and then got good support from Andy Wainscot but, with 3 runs needed for both victory and his well deserved century he was agonisingly bowled. With rain falling Jamie Harris -Ensor then hit the winning runs as the Amateurs got home by 3 wickets with 20 overs left to bowl. Next week see's the Ammies travel to Egerton park who have also won both of their games this season.
