1st Team v AFC Hampton

Hindhead AFC still unbeaten this year travelled today with their furthest fixture against Hampton. Still with not a full squad against a new opposition it was going to be a tricky affair! Both teams started well with Hampton having more time in the Hindhead half but with a resilient comfortable defence we never looked like going behind, it wasn’t long before the pressure turned, with the Hamptons goalie keeping it at bay. After the 20 minute mark Hindhead took full control with a move that was worthy of splitting any team open, Alterton finally slotting the ball through for Wells to pounce, again with work to do Wells calmly fired in with the goalie at full stretch! Hindhead continued to seek the 2nd with Gilbert and Macinnon terrorising and controlling midfield before the close of the half but it wasn’t to come.After an inspirational team talk by manager Jim Spickett...!! we new we had to push high and score again. Just 10mins in and a driving free kick from Giles, Alterton was there at the back post to squeeze in a deserved 2nd! Hindhead continued to play the flowing football that the fans come to enjoy but could unfortunately not get the crucial 3rd. Hindhead will take the 2-0 win and build again for their next away game on Saturday against Surrey Dynamo! Macinnon clearly man of the match. And Stuart Woods turned up!!!
