Hindhead came into their top of the table clash against Surrey Athletic full of confidence following their unbeaten start to the season. They got off to a great start playing slick passing football and causing the away defence all sorts of problems. They quickly took the lead with Jamie Wells slotting home following a through ball from Will Mehta. It was soon two, Charley Barker tapping home after more good work from Wells and Steve Turpin. A great half was capped off as Wells cracked in a lovely half volley past the onrushing goalkeeper to make it 3-0.Despite another inspirational half time team talk from manager Jim Spickett, Hindhead started the second half slowly and were punished when the away striker turned the ball in at the near post as the home side failed to clear from a set piece. They remained solid however and a great game was completed when Dan Manners tried his luck from 40 yards and saw the goalkeeper drop the ball into his own net.4-1 to Hindhead and easily their best performance of the season to move 3 points clear at the top of the table.
