Hindhead’s unbeaten start to the season continued at home to Laleham and Kempton Reserves. Despite a slow start Hindhead took the lead midway through the first half as Charley Barker latched on to a through ball from Jamie Wells to slot home. Provider then turned goalscorer, as Jamie Wells finished off an excellent passing move from Hindhead to sweep home their second. It remained 2-0 at half time.Following an inspiring team talk from Joe Harrison, the home side started the second half solidly, with Laleham struggling to break down the reshaped back four. Hindhead made it 3-0 on the counter attack, Ben Giles with the long ball over the top which Jamie Wells finished expertly for his second of the match. Despite a few chances for the away side, all kept out by goalkeeper Joe Harrison, Hindhead were fairly comfortable and could have extended their lead when Stuart Woods hit a dipping 40 yard shot, which looked like it crossed the line from the underside of the crossbar. Sadly there is no VAR at the Field of Dreams, so the goal did not stand. It didn’t matter however as Hindhead saw the game out comfortably to finish 3-0. Another good result for Hindhead who remain top of the table. — with Stuart Woods and 9 others.
