Bojang and Llewellyn strike to thwart youthful Staveley side.

Horbury entertained a youthful Staveley side, hoping to put the previous defeat behind them. Spoiler alert, they did.

In a game without many clear cut chances, Gibril Bojang was the first to have an opportunity but chose to take a touch when a first time finish was the best option.

It was James Cusworth’s turn next to try and open the scoring but a shanked effort from six yards saw the opportunity go begging. That man again tried to catch the keeper off guard with a snap shot from the edge of the box but couldn’t hit the target.

On the fortieth minute, Town did get themselves in front through the hitman Gibril Bojang. It’s usually the hitman turning provider for James Cusworth but the roles reversed on this occasion as Cusworth beat the offside trap to play a lovely pass with the outside of the boot for Bojang to tap home. Town deserved the goal at that point as Staveley found it increasingly difficult to penetrate the defence of Town.

The first half hour of the second half provided very little in terms of entertainment but Kyeremeh had a half chance to double the lead for the home side. He expertly weaved his way into the box but fired over.

Bojang tried his luck from a free kick which didn’t dip in time and substitute Arista Llewellyn had a great opportunity to kill the game moments before the end but his goal bound shot was well blocked.

That man did get his first goal at semi professional level deep into injury tine however as he found himself on a rebound to head home. MOM Joel Feirn did expertly to pick the ball up in the corner and drive into the box to force the keeper to save.
