It was clear from the off that the Golds were out to make a statement, putting the opposition under pressure with a high press proving to be effective.
With only eight minutes gone on the clock a deflected pass from Ziyad Lahbabi played Amir Moore through perfectly who then rounded the keeper and slotted the ball away in cool fashion.
Just two minutes later the Golds were at it again. Julian Abrams made a driving run into the area from the right-hand side finishing off a brilliant solo effort blazing the ball into the opposite corner giving the keeper no chance.
Ten minutes later it was the opposition putting on the pressure, getting a goal to half their deficit and force Gold’s keeper Jake Day into making some impressive saves.
The Golds would take back their two goal advantage, however, just before the half time break. Ziyad played an excellent through ball for Amir who took his chance putting the ball into the back of the net for his second of the day.
Into the second half and the Golds continued to knock on the door in the hunt for a fourth in the game and it wasn’t long till their knocking was answered.
Amir picked the ball up just inside the oppositions half and paced his way just inside of the box and finished his run off with finesse and completing his hat trick.
FC Hartlepool Reserves would get a second in the 72’ minute, but the Golds showed no sign of letting up applying the same pressure they had been since the off.
A chance of a fifth goal for the Golds was presented in the dying moments of the game as they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the oppositions box. With Kalonji Cowan’s effort only being denied by a brilliant save from the opposition keeper.
The win will give Liv and Tommy’s Golds brilliant ground to build on as they face Newton Aycliffe YFC on Wednesday night at Coach Lane.
