More success and silverware for the under 12's who returned to the
Hornets Festival as holders of the cup. It was a tough contest with
all the teams evenly matched and of a consistently high quality. Ivy
successfully negotiated the group matches without conceding a try.
Beating Wells 10-0. Biggleswade 5-0 and a strong welsh team Abitillery
10-0. The Hornets home team were dispatched 15-0 and Ivy were in the
semi final of the cup. It was a tough match against Keynsham who
opened the scoring using one of their big centres who steamed through
the Ivy line and was unstoppable. However, that was all they had to
offer offensively as Ivy besieged their line for the remainder of the
game. Ivy levelled the score through Jonathon Parr but the rules
stated that in a draw the first to score went through and Ivybridge
found themselves in the final of the Plate. The Plate final was a bit
of an anti climax as the team was looking strong and they defeated
Biggleswade again to cap a very successful tournament season.
