The Kenny Men missing several regulars made the trip to Bicester to face Bure Park. A bright start saw Kennington rarely troubled and stand in keeper Stu Cattell rarely called into any action of note. The opening goal came when a throw in from the left saw Griffiths turn his man before smartly finishing into the far corner. Kennington continued on top but had to wait awhile when Woodhouse went on a mazy run beating 4 players before bending into the top corner from the edge of the box with his right foot for a contender for goal of the season. Just before the break Crossan could have made it 3-0 but his volley was well saved by the home keeper.
Bure came out looking to get back into the game, hooking balls over the yellows back line however they had little joy against a solid back line. Kennington didn’t create a great deal going forwards in the second half however you felt there where still some gears to go up if required. With 10 to go Bure Park got a goal back when a long throw in wasn’t dealt with and the Bure striker nodded in from close range. They pushed for an equalizer but had no joy.
Another 3 points in the yellows quest for the clubs highest finish in the league. 2 games remaining as the lads host Summertown on Tuesday 26th a day after returning from club linesman Alex Crossan stag weekend.
