After a bright warm up Kennington began brighter dominating the early exchanges and where helped along by the visitors having a player sent to the sin bin. They capitalized on this when the ball was cut back to Zenelli who took a touch before passing into the goal. Kennington continued on top of their opponents and double their lead when a great ball from Smith found Clarkson who cut inside his man before hitting a left foot strike past the keeper. Summertown finally came to life and from a corner that wasn't properly cleared several deflected clearances saw the ball deflect off a home defender and into the back of the net. Clarkson helped himself to another shortly after restoring the Yellows 2 goal lead before the half time break.
The 2nd period went much the same way as the first however the Yellows finishing escaped them as they missed several good chances to extend their lead and kill the game off. Summertown looked fairly lively when they got the ball into the Yellows half and reduced the home sides lead from a well struck free kick from the edge of the box. After a lengthily stoppage for an injury to a Summertown forward the game continued much in the same vain as again chances where missed to kill the game off. The Yellows where then made to pay when as the clock ran down another free kick was expertly dispatched again. As much as the Kenny Men pushed for the winner they couldn't find a finishing touch to grab the 3 points they really needed in their quest for 2nd spot.
The lads visit Halse on Saturday in the last game of the season as they hope to finish with a victory.
