Kensington & Ealing Borough FC22 Sep 2019 - 08:21

Late drama vs Ash United

We hosted Ash United on this warm Saturday afternoon. The boys were eager to bounce back after a disappointing loss last week vs a good Jersey side. The match began with Kensington showing their intent by taking control of the game & keeping the ball early on. Against the run of play 1 long ball over our defence added with keeper Hossam Hassan rushing out of his goal led to him being lobbed from 25 yards out. 1-0 down but the boys did not show any panic what so ever. Still we controlled the game with both our central midfielders Issac Atite & Josiah Valerie seeing lots of the ball. With 10 mins of the half left Kensington had a dangerous free kick 25 yards out. Clearly Jamarl Joseph has been watching the rugby world cup as he smashed the ball against the top of the stand.
H-T: 0-1.

After some calm words at half time Kensington came out looking the much fitter & sharper team. With Gabriel Chiedozie & Adrian Assinor standing firm at the back Ash didn't look like getting much joy against them. At this point the possession stats was massively in our favour & a free kick awarded 20 yards out was another golden chance to score. Up stepped Omar Bakkali who had been his vocal self all game bent the ball into the goal to equalize. Now it was really game on & the gaffer brought on the lively duo of Shadrach Williams & Bilal Bihi to cause problems which they clearly did. With 15 mins to play & Issac Atite was sent to have an early shower by the referee but after inspection i'm sure he just changed without the shower. Young Josh Bennett was sent on to help hold on whilst the experienced Terry Whitman & Mo Turay rushed forward in search of a winner. With literally seconds to play Walid Hirsi charged forward from deep twisting the defender inside out in the process & slotted past the keeper sending the bench & fans into pandemonium.

A great 3 points for the boys who worked hard all game in this heat but massive credit also to Ash United who pushed us all the way to the final whistle.

Our next game is away vs Molesey FC in the cup. 7:45 KO.

Come On You Borough!!!
