Local school children enjoyed a great rugby event on Monday, July 4 when the Rhinos hosted a Touch Rugby Tournament at the Hopwood ground.
The junior section of Kings Norton RFC, entertained three local schools and were supported by a number of Kings Norton RFC volunteers as well as our Community Rugby Coach Jon Critchlow.
Year 7 children came from Turves Green Boys School, Saint Thomas Aquinas School and Kings Norton Boys School, with each school fielding two teams.
All the teams played each other but the team which came out on top was the Saint Thomas Aquinas Eagles, who won every match.
They were awarded the Chris Cooksey Shield (Chris can be seen presenting the shield to Pablo Allen the captain of the Eagles in the photo).
Player of the Tournament was awarded to the only girl who took part, Naoibh McNamee, also from Saint Thomas Aquinas School.
A great day and we look forward to seeing those who took part joining in our Rhinos section next season.
