⚫⚪⚫⚪⚫⚪⚫⚪⚫⚪ Division 3 League Result: SCORE: Baldoyle United FC 1-1 Kingswood Castle FC GOAL: Liam Delaney '52 ⚽ REPORT: First outing of our campaign was a game which took us time to settle into & when we did so the chances came with Alex Murray having his first chance saved by their Goalkeepers foot, then his strike partner Ben Finnegan slotted home only for his effort to be called offside!! We grew into this match even more at the half hour mark again Murray beating the offside trap but somehow firing over which kept the game at nil all.  It just wasn't happening for us in front of goal unfortunately & when Delaney cut inside with one of his great runs his shot hadn't enough on it to trouble their Goalkeeper. We came in at the half time break wondering if this was going to be our day at all ? Second half we started the better & when Delaney ran onto a pass in behind he still had a lot to do.. he held off his marker & side footed passed the Keeper to give us the lead. A second goal we felt was needed with the host pushing forwards now looking for the equaliser & when we countered Murray couldn't get enough power on the end of a Weafer cross to trouble their man between the sticks. It looked like one goal was going to be enough to win this game but with only eight minutes left their Striker shot from 25 yards out which ended up being a top bin shot leveling the game. It was their only really chance in this whole encounter, we dusted ourselves off & then pushed onwards looking for a winner which we should have got as a fantastic opportunity in the dying minutes fell to Finnegan but somehow he steered his effort wide from a cut back ? It ended level but overall we've so many positives to take from this game.   Thanks to Baldoyle United FC & we will see them in the returning fixture later on in the season #thecastle?⚫⚽
