With both Kirkley & Pakefield FC and Lowestoft Town FC without a match last Saturday, both clubs decided to arrange a mid-season friendly at the Crown Meadow. The match had a midday kick off played in three periods of 30 minutes, it was good to see Lowestoft give free admission to all spectators. The ‘Trawlerboys’ went two goals up in the first period, the second scored by ex Royals player Kyle Haylock. The ‘Royals’ Player-Manager Ross Gilfedder headed in a fine goal early in the second period this after a good move by Macca Holt and inch perfect cross by Nathan Russell. The two teams battled out an enjoyable close match no further goals were forthcoming leaving the home team 2-1 victors. Both teams enjoying the occasion of a competitive work out for all of their squad of players.
This Saturday Kirkley & Pakefield FC 1st visit Thetford Town FC in a difficult league match as they are currently third in the table just three points behind the league leaders with four games in hand. 3.00 ko.
