The club are delighted to announce that they are to join forces with Knaphill Wanderers with all their current Sunday sides coming under the Knaphill Athletic FC banner in time for season 2012/13. The Wanderers are a well-respected local youth setup and merging with them gives us the opportunity to offer football across all age groups from U9's to adult with the possibility of more age groups joining before the season starts.
The structure will be as follows:
Knaphill Athletic - currently registered as an Intermediate club
Knaphill Athletic (Youths) - formerly Knaphill Wanderers FC Youth
Knaphill Athletic (Girls) - formerly Knaphill Wanderers FC Girls
Knaphill Athletic (Sunday) - formerly Knaphill Wanderers FC Seniors
At the clubs recent AGM the following committee was also voted in:
Chairman - Iain Airey
Club Secretary - Des Clark
Club Treasurer - Kevin Barkham
Child Protection Officer - Jeff Riley
Facilities Manager - Dean Roberts
Senior Players Representative and Junior Players Representative positions are currently vacant and the committee will appoint both of these positions at its first general meeting.
Chairman Iain Airey said: "This is a great move for the club which makes us one of the biggest in the borough and reinforces our commitment to grassroots football in the local area. We welcome the managers, staff, players and parents previously involved with Wanderers and look forward to a bright future together".
