convincing victory in the final of the charity cup

Ladybridge faced Manchester Premier league opposition in this years final of the charity Cup at Atherton collieries Alder house ground.

Ladybridge had progressed through the group stages of the competition as unbeaten group winners and beat north west counties side Ashton Town in the QF and the Penninton in the semi final.
Hindsford progressed to the final on the back of a resounding 5 nil victory over newly crowned Manchester prem champions Prestwich heys in the semi.

Ladybridge kicking uphill and against the wind had the 1st chance when Parkinson ran clear but his shot sailed wide, Hindsford trying to take advantage of the hill and wind then created a couple of chances but failed to convert any.
hough nearly put Bridge in front when he burst through from midfield but his shot was gathered by the hindsford keeper.
The breakthrough came from a corner when amongst an aerial challenge in the box the ball appeared to come off a Hindsford head and into the back of the Hindsford net to put Ladybridge 1 nil in front.
Ladybridge kept tight and contained Hindsford well and went in at the break with the advantage.
The second half Ladybridge came out firing and with the hill and wind advantage soon increased the lead as Coop's through ball sent Parkinson clear who made no mistake as he fired the ball past the keeper on 48 minutes.
The 3rd came on 55 minutes when the same combination struck as Coop's through ball sent Parkinson clear and after beating the defender he clinically finished into the bottom corner.

Ladybridge continued to press and the 4th goal came when Parkinson tried his luck from 35 yards and his powerful shot deceived the keeper and seal his hat trick on 65 minutes, the 5th goal came when Joe Brown's through ball sent Parkinson clear again and after initially hitting the post he followed up to make no mistake.

Hindsford grabbed a consolation goal in injury time with a looping header that deceived the Ladybridge Keeper Paris Nuttall.

Excellent display and a well deserved victory in the cup final
