Ladybridge welcomed top of the table Burscough to St Johns park in the game of the day in Division 1.
Ladybridge went into the game without Edmo, Whiteside, Waugh and Unsworth so changes were made to the starting line up.
The game was a very tight affair with chances limited at both ends, The only goal of the game came on 20 minutes when Galliers 25 yard half volley left keeper Nuttall with very little chance.
Burscough had the better of the 1st 20 but then Bridge started to get a foothold in the game and keep the ball better,
Ladybridge's best chances of the half came when Thorpe's close range effort went straight to the keeper and Ellison's header from a corner flew narrowly wide.
Changes had to be made at half time as Parknson and Mannion both picked up first half injuries.
The 2nd half Ladybridge controlled possession but Burscough defended well and Bridge struggled to find a way through, the best chance of the half fell to McGinlay who got on the end of Brazel's cross only to see his shot go narrowly wide. Burscough were solid as a unit defensively all half and saw the game out.
Although chances were limited it was still a good game of football and a great advert for the west lancs league.
A big thankyou to match day sponsor Pallet Brew, a supplier of micro brewery's nationally for their support.
