Influential attacker Charlie Bailey returns for the 2024/25 season.

Lancaster City are delighted to announce that Charlie Bailey will remain with the club for the 2024/25 Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division campaign.

Originally joining the club in 2017 following a spell at Kendal Town, Charlie has become a huge favourite with the Dolly Blues faithful for his enthusiasm, technique and commitment. He amassed 44 appearances across all competitions in 2023/24 and contributed 8 goals including the Goal of the Season as voted by Lancaster City supporters for his strike from the edge of the penalty box away at Macclesfield. It was one of several superb hits from Charlie, he scored from range against Radcliffe and Ilkeston Town while also demonstrating a poacher’s instinct with goals at home to Basford and away at Hyde United.

In total, Charlie has played 234 games in a Lancaster shirt and scored 44 goals, including league games declared void by the NPL during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Charlie spoke to LCFC Media following confirmation he would continue as a Dolly Blue; “I’m very happy to have re-signed, we had a strong end to the season last time around and I’m excited to see what we can do this year with some new faces and also the continued support from the fans.”

Manager Chris Willcock was proud to make the announcement on Charlie’s birthday that he would remain at the Giant Axe alongside brother Sam; “Both Charlie and Sam are integral parts of the club, retaining them both was a priority.”

He’s one of our own and we’ll welcome him back for pre-season training ahead of the new campaign.
