Lancaster City Football Club can confirm the signing of highly rated goalkeeper Lewis Forshaw on loan from Burnley.

Forshaw spent three games on loan at the beginning of last season to cover for the suspended Andre Mendes.

During his first spell with the club, Forshaw kept two clean-sheets. The first came on his debut, a two-nil victory over Stafford Rangers at The Giant Axe before a goalless draw away to Worksop concluded the youngsters time with the club.

Later on in the season, Forshaw joined Avro FC in the NPL Division One West for more first team experience before competing for minutes with his parent club. During his time with Burnley’s academy, Forshaw made 18 appearances for the Under 18’s and four at Under 21 level.

In the summer, Forshaw was handed his first professional deal with the Championship outfit commiting his future with the club until the summer of 2026.

Lewis is available for selection for Saturday’s fixture against Morpeth Town.
