Andre has been on trial for the first week of pre-season and was the standout performer in the cohort of goalkeepers to earn himself a place in Mark Fell's squad.

Mark said "Andre has really impressed since coming in to train with us, he fits well within our group and has all the attributes we want from a goalkeeper. He’s had experience in our league and the league below whilst on loan so knows what it’s all about. It’s important that we move quickly to secure him as there has been lots of interest, I’m sure he will quickly become a fan favourite and he’s raring to go."

The Portuguese shot-stopper spent time on loan at NPL West side Colne before playing 10 games at the end of the season for Ashton United.

Andre spoke on his move saying "I’m excited for this new challenge, I think we will exceed the expectations with our targets. One thing I can guarantee, I always give my best."

Andre is available for selection at tomorrow's friendly away at Kendal Town.
