Selkirk won the Scott Cup by winning the Langholm 7's yesterday for the first time since 1925.
Selkirk's impressive journey to the final started with a first round win over Carlisle in scoring 50 points without reply before seeing off Watsonians 24-17 in the Quarter Final and Jed-Forest 33-10 in the Semi Final before meeting Edinburgh Accies in the Final.
Accies were equally impressive in getting to the Final as they despatched the home side 54-10 (Langholm tries from Scott Howatson & Steven Nicol) before beating Melrose 17-14 in the Quarter Final and Gala 22-19 in the Semi Final, after coming back from being 12-5 down at half time.
The bruising quarter final and semi final ties looked to have taken their toll on the Accies side as Selkirk were worthy winners 36-10 in the Final.
All day Selkirk had looked like the team to beat as they played solid rugby, looked and played like a team that had been training together well and fully deserved their first victory at Langholm since 1925.
Player of the tournament, picked by the referee's went to Selkirk's Darren Clapperton.
