Latchford Albion have received confirmation of further representative honours for one of their squad current as full back Carwyn Chamberlain has been added to the North Wales Origin RL squad for the rest of the 2018 season.
The squad has regular fixtures lined up again various representative sides before taking on bitter rivals South Wales later in the season.
The selection is just reward following a rise in the level of Carwyn’s performances which saw him invited for a trial, of which he has now received confirmation of his inclusion within the Origin squad.
Carwyn’s association with Latchford has been over the last couple of seasons. Whilst attending university Carwyn moved away from his home in South Wales, to re-locate close to Warrington and the former Crusader junior was also looking for a return to rugby league and he joined Latchford Albion in 2016.
Although work and university commitments came first Carwyn became a popular member of the squad turning in consistently strong performances.
With studies now complete, 2018 saw Carwyn in a position to commit full time to pre-season of which Lee Smith was impressed with his commitment and effort and added,
“Carwyn has stood out this season and I think a lot of it is down to the big effort he started putting in back in the winter months, during a cold miserable pre season. He was there with a 100% effort every time which has continued into the season with a consistently high level of performances.
He's a great lad, a real team player, and every week he will put on he jersey and do the the job. He is a pleasure to coach because he's always so keen to keep learning and improving, and this honour is deserved and will help continue with his development. “
Latchford Albion would also like to thank Pizza Hut, Latchford who have kindly offered to be Carwyn’s sponsor for his Origin selection.
