Overview

Founded in the town of Leamington Spa in early 2009, Leamington Royals have progressed and developed as a community club and rugby league team.

The club was accepted into the Kurki Midlands Rugby League and finished 3rd overall in their first season.

In 2010 & 2011 the Royals competed in Co-operative RLC Midlands Regional Conference. The move up was designed to help build and improve the club in all aspects. It enabled the club to pit themselves against better clubs in the area, but also to put a second team out to develop players for the future.

Leamington Royals Rugby League were crowned Co-operative RLC Regional Champions 2010. The club are also former Warwick District Council ‘Team of the Year’.

Despite being a club with only a short history, Leamington Royals Rugby League are keen to establish themselves as a club at the heart of its local community.

We at Leamington Royals Rugby League see education establishments as a key means to spreading the sport of Rugby League throughout Warwickshire. 2012 will see Rugby League being taught in schools and youth centres in Leamington. This will result in a junior grade rugby league for Leamington Royals.

Leamington Royals Rugby League recognise the positive influence that sport can have on young people and have therefore been making preparations to provide summer activities based around the sport, so the community can really benefit from being involved in a team sport.

As well as providing opportunities to play sport we also rely heavily on volunteers and have therefore signed up several volunteers. By providing opportunities for others to volunteer we are increasing our ability to positively influence our local community beyond our own club.

Leamington Royals are currently working hard behind the scenes to create a better future for the club, with ambitions of their own residence and more junior levels to fuel the senior team of tomorrow. We need your support to do this - Its a fantastic time to get behind your local rugby league club!
