Tanners Academy can look forward to The Football Conference Youth Alliance Play off final after beating Maidstone United and Kidderminster Harriers along the way. Having finished runners up in their respective division, Tanners Academy entered the play offs with faced strong favourites Kidderminster Harriers in the quarter finals. With the scores level after 90 minutes (3-3) Tanners held their nerve with a 6-5 victory on penalty kicks and they now faced Maidstone United in the semi final. Once again Tanners travelled to The Gallagher Stadium as underdogs, as Maidstone had rarely been defeated and only conceded nine goals during the regular season. Calum Davies gave Tanners the lead in the first minute of the game. For the opening 15 minutes Tanners looked the more composed and maybe should have extended the slight 1-0 lead, however as the half wore on Maidstone United soon started to control the game and with 2 goals in a five minute spell gave them a 2-1 lead going into the interval. Strong words from the coaches at the half time interval seemed to settle the boys in to the second half and after 50 mixtures the scores were level as Evan Lopes converted from the penalty spot 2-2. Tanners continued to cause problems for the Maidstone defence, with both Evan Lopes and Calum Davies instrumental in Tanners attacking play and Calum Davies completed his hat trick with two goals in a ten minute spell giving Tanners a 4-2 lead after 65 minutes. Substitute Liam Roberts converted Evan Lopes cross to give Tanners a 5-2 lead on 78 minutes and seemingly victory, as the game neared the full time whistle Maidstone United pulled a goal back but proved a little too late as Tanners saw out the final few minutes on move into the final to play Dover Athletic managed by Mike Sandmann.
