Cassie joined Stoke around 20 years ago enjoying a very successful career there. As an adult player she was a prominent member of the 1st team and captained them on many occasions.
Leek’s present ladies 1st team have been climbing the women’s pyramid of leagues over the last few seasons and were well in the promotion race for a national league spot prior to Covid 19 bringing the season to a premature end causing the season to be void.
The girls and ladies section at Leek Town has two adult open age teams as well as girls age group teams through most age ranges.
Manager Ian Smith said “we are delighted that Cassie has decided to join our 1st team squad as I know she has had many offers from elsewhere. Her playing ability and experience will have a fantastic positive effect on our female section at Leek Town.
The fact that Cassie is still only 30 means she thinks that the girls and ladies section here at Leek is going in the right direction.
For our younger age group girls, when they see players like Cassie joining Leek, they will understand where the player pathway at Leek can take them”.
Cassie Hyde said “ since leaving Stoke it was important I made the right decision for me both personally and professionally. I still feel I have a lot to give and wanted a new challenge.
Joining my local team in Leek is something I’m excited about, I have great family connections to the club with my uncle Neil being the manager of the men’s team. I feel the club has great potential and I hope to bring not just valuable experience but good footballing ability to help this club move forward and to where it deserves to be.
I can’t wait to get started”.
Welcome to Leek Town Cassie.
