As Leek Town Ladies were a youth team last season playing at U18 level and this season will be the first as an adult team the ladies had to apply to the FA to be accepted to play in the FA Cup.

Several U18 leagues from last season carry FA approval for teams progressing to adult football and wishing to compete in this seasons FA Cup. Leek Town were in the Warwickshire U18 league last season which carries such approval.

Even though Lye Town play two leagues higher than Leek Town this will be an amazing experience for the ladies as they start their pathway through adult football. All but one of the successful youth team have formed the Ladies team along with a few new recruits.

All the players involved will be able to say they have taken part in the FA Cup.
