Leek Town are pleased to announce the arrival of Wayne Goodison as our new Head Coach. Wayne replaces recently departed Danny Pugh, who has left to continue to grow & develop his new coaching business. Wayne will start his new role immediately & Blues fans will see him in the dug out next week.
Followers of non league football will recognise Wayne as the previous Joint Manager gf 1874 Northwich along with Paul Bowyer, where they oversaw promotion, Macron Cup Final wins & several other entertaining cup runs. Waynes managerial career also includes interim roles at Ramsbottom United and Salford City.
Respected as a technical coach and developer of players Wayne also played professional football with over 200 professional appearances in his career for Barnsley, Crewe and Rochdale. He also played non league football for Hyde, Accrington Stanley & Buxton.
Josh Brehaut said "I am delighted that Wayne has decided to join my back room staff, and will compliment our existing team of Peter Ward, Steve Pardoe & Dom Kurasik well. We've known for a couple of weeks that Pughy would be leaving, but credit to him he stayed until we had a replacement, that is the type of person he is. Wayne was at the game against Witton and I know he is looking forward to getting started."
Welcome to the Club Wayne, we are pleased to have you aboard.
