KICK OFF COUNTDOWN
With six games left to play, the Blues this week head to the Northeast – A trip to Morpeth on the quest for three points. Both teams have entered a run of good form in the league of late, with Leek managing 10 points in their previous six games, only bettered by 1 point, as Mopeth have managed 11 points in that same period. The last time that the Blues lost in the NPL was in fact against Morpeth just three weeks ago, who could forget the Louis Potts red card and the 84th minute winner.
Leek will be making the almost 4 hour journey to Craik Park with the hopes of making it three league wins in succession, edging ever closer to league safety. Morpeth on the other hand, will be dreaming that the last 6 games could push them ever closer to the play-offs, they are currently just 8 points behind 5th placed Ashton.

How are they doing?
The Highwaymen have lost 1 and drawn 1 since our last meeting just three weeks ago. A 0-4 home loss against Macclesfield and a 0-0 away draw in Lancaster has seen them slip a little further down the table. However, they will be looking to regain some form in the hopes of making a late play-off push with 6 games left.
Their Main Man?
It is still very much Jack Foelle and Nick Bollado who lead the line for the Highwaymen. Bollado leads the attack with his 11 NPL goals this season. Both players link up well together and have a relationship that has gifted Morpeth with 21 goals this season.
Their Gaffer?
During his first season in charge, Lynch guided Morpeth Town to their best ever run in the FA Trophy and equal best run in the FA Cup, on both occasions losing to then National League North York City. He also guided the club to safety after a poor start to the season under Stephen Turnbull, including a run of 1 league defeat in 18 games following his appointment. The Ex Sunderland scholar boasts a wealth of playing experience following his time at Sunderland, Hartlepool and Rochdale.
Morpeth Town – Have we met before?
The Blues VS The Highwaymen gives us another FIRST in Leek Town FC history. This season is the first time that our stats engine suggests that the two teams have met. This will be the second meeting in a month. It was Morpeth who took the spoils in the first meeting between the two teams. A close game with plenty of chances wasted saw the two teams compete end to end until the final whistle.
It was on that day, Morpeth who took all three points following a red card for Louis Potts. An 84th minute goal from number 9 Sam Hodgson saw all three points heading back to the North East.
