Comfortable win for Leek Town Ladies in this Local Derby against a spirited Leek CSOB Ladies team. All but one of Leek Town Players today aged 16-18

Good performance by our young team today especially in First half. We showed a good fitness level and technical ability was high. CSOB Ladies did not give up though and came out fighting for the second half
- Ian Smith

The game started with Leek Town on the front foot and 4 minutes in Elise Skelding won a 50/50 tackle in the box and fired Leek Town into a 1-0 lead. From the restart Amber Stanway won the ball and supplied Lucy Kelsall who ran down the right and won a corner for Leek Town.
The corner taken by Isabel Wretham was met perfectly by Kirsty Ryder who headed home to make it 2-0
Katie Maya, Elise Skelding and Emily Boon also had chances saved by the CSOB keeper.
Leek Town's two centre backs Emma Smith and Charlotte Bromley were proving very difficult for the CSOB front line to get past clearing everything on the ground and in the air.
Mollie Shaw picked the ball up on the Leek left and ran past several players before providing a good ball to Katie Maya who fired just over the bar. Town then had several more chances saved by the CSOB
keeper who was having a good game.

Kirsty Ryder then picked up the ball in midfield and supplied Lucy Kelsall who again ran half the length of the pitch and produced a perfect cross met by Emily Boon who fired home to make it 3-0.

Leek Keeper Hannah Austin then made a good save from a long range effort. Leek Town then won a free kick some 20 plus yards out which Katie Maya fired into the bottom corner with a great strike to make it 4-0. Then in the final moments of the first half Alice Naden made a chance for herself which was again saved by the keeper.

Half time Leek Town 4-0 Leek CSOB

The second half started and the CSOB Ladies had not given up and came out on the attack and had a 1 v 1 with the Town keeper but fired wide, then Eden Gibson hit the frame of the Town goal. Kirsty Ryder and Amber Stanway started to take control again in Midfield for Town and it was Stanway who provided a through ball for the Town forwards to run onto, a defender was first to the ball and stabbed it back to the keeper who picked it up under pressure, Town were awarded a free kick under pass back rule and Katie Maya knocked the ball to Isabel Wretham who fired into the net to make it 5-0
Town then introduced Amy Mellor who replaced goalkeeper Hannah Austiin and she was immediately called into action to clear a ball with forwards rushing in. Charlie Awde was also brought on at right back and she made some excellent interceptions to put Leek Town on the attack again.
Isabel Wretham then found herself on the edge of the CSOB box and with a great shot beat the keeper putting Town 6-0 up.
Mollie Shaw again won the ball back for Leek which eventually found Katie Maya who rounded two defenders before firing in the seventh and final goal for Leek Town.
