Leighton Hockey Club took 2 7-A-side teams at U10, U12 & U14 age groups to the high
quality Bedford Tournament on a sunny but chilly Sunday at Bedford Hockey Centre.

In the U10 tournament two groups of six teams took part with teams taken from
Clubs from Tring to Cambridge, with the two Leighton sides playing in four games.
LBHC U10's A consisted of only six players:Emily Elding, Emily Feldsted, Adam Baker Leon Ball Liam Filed
& Cameron Hill, with no Goalie
Dispite this, they ended the group stage in third place missing out on the semi finals by goal difference only.
Winning two games 2:0 with goals from Liam Field (3) and Cameron Hill (1).

LBHC U10's B consisted of 7players: Isabel JAckson, Florrie McKinnon, Finlay Bell-Taylor, Georgia Crutchfield,
Ella Keenagh, Amy Langham and Lily-May Fitzpatrick. (with no Goalie), and finished 4th in the Table of six.
Goals were few and far between in this group as most games ended 0-0.

In the U12 tournament groups of six and seven teams took part with teams agian from
Clubs from Tring to Cambridge, and again the two Leighton sides playing in four games.
LBHC U12's A consisted of: Emily Heale, Alex Trumper, Gemma Childs, Jack Gotzheim, Sadie Towell,
Sophie Debell and Goalie Alannah Edwards.
The draw was unkind to LBHC U12'A as they played strong teams from Cambridge City and Bedford
but ended the group stage in fifth place of seven
.
LBHC U12's B again consisted of 7 players: Charlotte Dashwood, Jess Dhillon, Neve Cox, Daniel Boulder,
James Trumper, Joshua Gale, Joshua Farnfiled and the very busy Goalie Alannah Edwards,
LBHC U12's B, won three of their four group games with goals from Joshua Gale, Charlotte Dashwood
and Joshua Farnfield, with two clean sheets from Alannah.
This allowed the team to finish 2nd in group and progress to the knockout phase.
and finished a well earned fourth in tournament..

The afternoon, saw the unders U14's competition with again LBHC entering 2 teams in groups of seven.
LBHC U14's A consisted of: Olivia Lane, Sarah Howard, Sarah Plummer, Jordan Field, Joseph Giltrow,
Henry Mead , Lottie Hayman, Jacob Townson and Goalie Alex Dashwood.
Again the draw was unkind with LB playing strong teams from Cambridge and Bedford, but did have a
covincing 3-0 win against Tring with goals rom Sarah Plummer (see attached) and Joshua Giltrow and Henry Mead.
This win allowed LBHC U14's A to finish 4th.

LBHC U14's B contained an All girls line-up consisting of:
Eleanor Dickson, Niambh Carpenter, Amani Hoque, Ella Feldstead, Megan Campbell, Abbie Lawrence,
Laren Farnfield, Anam Peenam, Rebecca Beare with again a busy Alex Dashwood in Goal.
Despite playing teams with 4 boys, LBHC U14 Girls played well winning won game 1-0
with the goal from Rebecca.
Alex, Kept the team in conetion for the other games untill a clash with LBHC U14's A,
so Ella Feldstead bravely played 'Kicking-back' from this game, swapping for Megan Campbell when injured.
Being an all girl team, LBHC U14's B finished 4th in the group.

All the players would like to give thanks to the following Senior Members of the club for being coaches
or for umpiring all day: Antony Puttock, Rhianna Baker, Oliver Rouch, Matthew Franklin, Steve Farrell,
Ken Mounter, David Thompson and all parents you stood in the sunny but chilly air all day.
