One had to feel sorry for Shortwood. With many withdrawals on the morning of the match, the visitors only had 10 men. At the time of kick off they had 5 players present, with the other 5 arriving 20 minutes later. This meant that the match eventually kicked off at 2.30, and was shortened to 40 minutes each way.

The game was effectively over in the first 6 minutes, by which time Letcombe had scored 3 times. A right wing run and cut back from Calum Pryce allowed Jordi Davies to score, with Josh Fowler adding the second a minute later and Davies adding the third. Davies completed his hat trick in the first quarter, but the visitors continued to battle valiantly and did not concede again before the interval. Indeed, Dayne Gibson-Clarke had a clear run on goal, but home keeper Harry Whitehead managed to push the shot around the post.

Shortwood pulled a goal back early in the second half when a back pass eluded Whitehead and Toby Gattler scored. Kieran Kerby scored for Letcombe soon afterwards and Pryce added number seven before Owen Shaw also scored. As in the first half, Shortwood did not concede in the last 20 minutes, and Gattler scored again for Shortwood with 10 minutes remaining.

Unbeaten Letcombe continue on their winning run, but they are expecting two more difficult games as they travel to Mortimer in the Berks & Bucks Cup on December 10th before they host top of the table Swindon Supermarine development on Saturday 17th.
