Little Hulton win the arm wrestle against a tough westhoughton side

Little Hulton travelled to westhoughton this week, having played and lost to westhoughton twice already this year and below them in the league. The game started
with Little Hulton totally in control in the westhought half of the field, front rower Ken Sackfield was able to break the Westhoughton defence after 10
minutes but was adjudged not to have grounded the ball, immediately Westhoughton broke and went the length of the field against the run of play to put
themselves 6 points to the good.Little Hulton was still pounding on the Westhoughton door making a tactical switch moving Hargreaves from center to fullback and
bringing Heaton into the backs payed dividends immediately when Little Hulton moved the ball swiftly from left to right stretching the Westhoughton defence and
giving Heaton the chance to open the Reds account. The game then developed into an arm wrestle to quarter asked non given till Westhoughton manged again to hit
Little Hulton on the break to open up a 12 4 lead for themselves.Big Mike Jones now entered the fray and things got better for the reds, Jones made a break only
to be caught who then off loaded to Hessian who in turn off loaded when tackled to Aron Bell who flew over the line to reduce the deficit to 4.Shortly
afterwards quick thinking again from Arron Bell lead to him diving over the line to bring staus quo to score line.On one of their rare visits to the Reds half
Westhoughton was awarded a penalty and from the resultant move managed to score an unconverted try to give is a half time score of Westhoughton 16 Little Hulton
reds 12.The second half started as most of the game had been with Little Hulton Reds in control and it wasnt long before Danny Jones was on hand to to drive
over the line and bring parity to the scoreboard once again. It was Westhoughton turn to put some pressure on the reds and was rewarded again to again go 6
points clear. It seemed like the effort had took its toll on the Westhoughton side and it became wave up on wave of Little Hulton attacks on the Westhoughton
line at last the they cracked giving pacey wing Chris Gaffey the chance to round his opposite number and score wide out.It was game on again 2 points in
Westhoughton favour and 10 minuets left, with time running out Mike Jones made the initial break and up stepped Aidy Heaton to gather the quick play the ball and
race under the sticks with only 3 minuets remaining. It seemed rather cruel on the Westhoughton side after all the defending they hand done, but it also showed
Little Hulton Reds wont go down with out a fight, final score Westhoughton 22 Little Hulton Reds 24.Little Hulton have a well earned break this weekend.
